Prospective study of radiological and functional outcomes of humeral mid-shaft fractures by anterior bridge plating technique

چکیده
Background: The humerus can be considered the most versatile bone in human body. Can successfully approached by a variety of methods for fracture fixation including functional bracing, plating (posterior, lateral, and anterior), intramedullary nailing (antegrade retrograde). Notably, many humeral fractures managed conservatively due to wide range acceptability reduction. Anterior bridge (ABP) which utilizes minimally invasive approach popularly known as percutaneous plate osteosynthesis (MIPPO) technique said latest entrant this list. present study was undertaken evaluate efficacy ABP. Methods: carried out from July 2020 2022 DR. D. Y. Patil medical college hospital, Nerul, Navi Mumbai, involving 32 patients who met selection criteria were operated at tertiary care centre. Informed consent obtained all use their clinical imaging data. Ethical committee approval taken. assessment done based on radiological outcomes periodically. Results: Majority belongs age group 18-25 years (46.87%). side injury found right (65.62%). In cases, extent displacement 2-5 cm (71.87). Conclusions: conclusion ABP is very good treating mid-shaft with minimal soft tissue dissection, smaller scars, early return overhead activities.

Is Anterior Bridge Plating for Mid-Shaft Humeral Fractures a Suitable Option for Patients Predominantly Involved in Overhead Activities? A Functional Outcome Study in Athletes and Manual Laborers
BACKGROUND To assess the functional and radiological outcomes of minimally invasive anterior bridge plating (ABP) for mid-shaft humerus fractures in patients predominantly involved in overhead activities (athletes and manual laborers). METHODS Forty-eight patients fulfilling inclusion criteria were treated with ABP at a level-I trauma center using a 4.5-mm dynamic/locking compression plate an...
متن کاملMinimally invasive plating osteosynthesis for mid-distal third humeral shaft fractures.
Mid-distal third humeral shaft fractures can be effectively treated with minimally invasive plating osteosynthesis and intramedullary nailing (IMN). However, these 2 treatments have not been adequately compared. Forty-seven patients (47 fractures) with mid-distal third humeral shaft fractures were randomly allocated to undergo either minimally invasive plating osteosynthesis (n=24) or IMN (n=23...
متن کاملA simple technique for double plating of extraarticular distal humeral shaft fractures.
Plate fixation of extraarticular distal humeral shaft fracture is often difficult. Traditional techniques do not allow for stable fixation. A single DCP plate may have inadequate purchase in the distal fragment. The use of large plates extending distally over the lateral supracondylar ridge is often associated with pain and sometimes interferes with elbow range of motion. In this study, 22 pati...
متن کاملPlating of proximal humeral fractures.
The optimal treatment for proximal humeral fractures is controversial. Few data exist concerning the influence of the surgical approach on the outcome. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical and radiological outcomes of proximal humeral fractures treated with locking plate fixation through a deltopectoral vs an anterolateral deltoid-splitting approach. Of 86 patients who met the...
